From the time I was 13 and got my own paper route until I graduated from high school I always had some sort of a job to earn extra money and over the years I'd been able to sock away about $10,000. Both mom and dad worked hard to keep us well fed, comfortably housed and properly clothed, but there wasn't a whole lot left over to put aside for college educations. There were 12 of us altogether, mom, dad, 6 boys and 4 girls. I come from a large and fairly poor family.
